I am going to jump the ban wagon and quit this evil weed. Today was my intended start date and - i chickened out! I am a very weak person. I need more reassurance and support. I already know i will be the biggest b**ch in the world. I will bite your head off for walking in the room. I'm scared! Why?
I'm off to make a new plan of attack.
a few bits of random ramblings......
yesterday during our Sunday spaghetti dinner i look up from my plate and the look on my daughters face was one of terror. She's gasping for air. Says "stuck" and put her hand on her throat. So Bill tells her to drink something to wash it down. It doesn't go anywhere but back out. Panic time, so i instinctively start hitting her on the back, which doesn't sound very nice but she was able to catch a breath. She then went to the bath room to wash up while i cleaned the table. She seemed to be there a little long so i go to check on her and she says sometimes still stuck and was trying to stick her finger down her throat. I said try to blow your nose. She did and all was "normal" . Then she did it again and low and behold she pulls the tissue away from her face and there hangs a noodle. FROM HER NOSE. I can only imagine the look on my face. I reach over and gently pull and a big long noodle comes out. Now I'm holding the noodle like it's the catch of the day and we both look at each other and had the BIGGEST laugh. We laughed for quite a while. My husband was not phased by the "food out of the nose thing". He said it happened to him when he was younger! I have NEVER experienced such a thing. Liquid, yes but food, NO! Just thinking about it again has made me chuckle all over again.

Cher, good luck on your quest to quit smoking. I am not as strong as you! I would surely gain a bazillion pounds!
That incident with Amy must have scared the sh*t out of you and her. I guess now that it is over, seeing a noodle hanging from her nose was indeed funny. Just the thing to make a scary thing not so scary. I am glad she (and you) are O.K!
I am leaving for my trip tomorrow, but I will NEED coffee when I return!
Have a good week and again, good luck with the non-smoking!
P.S - you're a good friend, too!
LOL i've had the spaghetti thing happen to me too once... it was not fun, yet kinda hilarious after the fact.
ooooh coffee....
Sniffing the foul smell of my jacket hanging in the hospital locker helped me through the first days. Since then I have only had to remember the incredibly negative feelings around the first drag on the next cig.
Hope this is helpful to you.
PS
What an incredible pic! Your own photo? - then please show more.
